It’s so hard to sum up how wonderful Jackie is and how much she means to us in a few sentences but I’ll try! She was our night and day doula starting when my baby was 4 days old and stayed with us for many weeks. Not only was she a wealth of knowledge on newborns, breastfeeding, parenting tips, etc., but she was the most calming and reassuring presence that my husband and I both needed during such a hard time. Her vibe and words of wisdom were exactly the energy we needed in our house. We had lots of breastfeeding challenges and I was a worried new mama. My experience with Jackie was nothing short of amazing. The universe brought us together a couple months before our due date. Leading up to that time, she provided endless advice, was a wonderful sounding board, and helped me to deeply process my first [traumatic] birth experience. With her help, I not only created an empowered birth plan, but ultimately had the unmedicated, VBAC birth of my dreams. In addition, her incredible postpartum support and quick, attentive guidance allowed for immediate nursing struggle relief & overall seamless recovery; especially thanks to placenta encapsulation which she also provided. We first met Jackie for coffee to get to know her and had a great impression from the beginning. Her background as a labor and delivery nurse gave us a sense of safety and confidence. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also incredibly kind, compassionate, and supportive.
Jackie took the time to get to know us before the birth. After our first meeting, she came to our home to continue building that connection, listened with care, asked thoughtful questions, and helped us feel at ease. She was always responsive when we reached out with questions or updates—never making us feel like we were alone in the process.
Our labor ended up being 40 hours long—an intense and exhausting experience—but Jackie was a steady, calming, and reassuring presence through it all. She helped us stay grounded, advocated for us with the hospital staff, and made sure our birth plan was respected while still helping us navigate the unexpected. She made space for laughter and lightness in the middle of it all, which we’ll never forget.
It’s hard to imagine getting through that experience without her. Jackie helped us feel supported through every contraction, every decision, every moment. She brought so much strength and calm to our birth story, and we genuinely missed her the moment she left.
We feel so lucky to have had Jackie by our side, and we’ll always be grateful for the bond we formed with her during one of the most meaningful times of our lives.
